What Colours Can Horses See?

Haven't horses got just beautiful, fascinating eyes? Their eyes are so detailed and clear, and there's just something so comforting about a horse's eyes, that I still cannot fully understand.
When I look into a horse's eye, I see a kind, wild-hearted and just incredible creature that God has created.

But have you ever looked into your horse's eyes, and wondered if they see you in the same colours as a human sees you? What colours can horses see?

Well, although not 100% accurate, scientists have done research, study and experiments and have concluded that horses see all colours except shades of red. (That may include yellow and orange.) And apparently, greens and blues are more like a grey colour in a horse's eyes.

Did you know, because of the large size of horses' eyes, horses can see the best in low light and night time-better than a human.

What colours can horses' eyes be?
The most common colour in horses' is brown. Light-blue comes second, although it is still quite rare in horses. Specific horse breeds can have light-blue eyes, like Appaloosas, Paint Horses and Pintos. Extremely rare eye colours are light-green, grey, yellow or even violet eyes can occur. But brown is not just the most common eye colour in horses, but also the healthiest colour.

In the photo below, this is extremely rare- a black horse with blue eyes. I must admit though, it is very beautiful!
